Who is our service for?
Our service is for people with a learning disability, with additional needs who require a period of admission to a specialist assessment and treatment unit. This could be because they are at risk in their current situation or because they require a period of treatment and rehabilitation.
How do we help?
In the specialist units, patients receive support and treatment from skilled nurses and from therapists and other professionals in the multi-disciplinary team as required.
During their stay, changes to medication can take place in a safe and therapeutic environment. Health investigations may also be carried out during the planned care of the individual. The main aim of the service is to support the patients to return to their life in the community.
Who can refer into our service?
GPs and Consultant Psychiatrists with the involvement of the Integrated Learning Disabilities Community Teams
