Cheryl saddles up to raise funds for Children’s services

cheryl bikingCheryl Newton, General Manager for Children, Young People and Families will be saddling up this July and setting off on a 100 mile bike ride – all to raise funds for the Trust’s charity.

To celebrate her 50th birthday, Cheryl will join another 25,000 amateur cyclists in undertaking the Prudential Ride London to raise additional funds for CYPF equipment which is not provided through core NHS funding.

Developed by the Mayor of London and his agencies in 2013, Prudential RideLondon is a world-class festival of cycling. The fifth race will take place over the weekend of 28-30 July 2017.

Cheryl said, “I started as a student nurse in the NHS over 30 years ago and have enjoyed a fabulous career working with many people both patients and colleagues.

Within my role I have had privilege of nursing and working with many children and their families who often experience challenging times with ongoing physical and mental health issues.

Cycling and nursing are both great passions of mine and it seemed fitting to bring the two together in this way. Money raised by this event will help fund additional facilities to improve patient experience of our children’s community and CAMHs services and all funds raised help make a huge difference to us!”
