Celebrating our carers with afternoon tea

On Wednesday 8th June, Carers Team staff along with carers and families gathered at Bristnall Road, Oldbury for a fun-filledLesley andCarers
day of activities including pampering sessions, bric-a-brac stalls, information stands and afternoon tea with cake and sweet treats.

Chief Executive, Karen Dowman and Director of Operations, Lesley Writtle were on hand to chat to carers about how the Trust can continue to help build a carer friendly community and provide much needed services for our carers. Lesley was kept particularly busy as she also donned her pinny and helped serve the tea and cake.   Linda Price, Team Manager, said “We recognise the valuable role carers play and want to support that role as much as we can.  It is well documented that people providing high levels of care are more likely to suffer long term illness themselves and we see first-hand that our carers are so busy looking after their loved one that they often neglect their own health.

“We are really pleased that the day was such a hit and we were able to give carers their much needed downtime to come together and eat, drink and talk in a stress free environment!”
