With summer on the way, it is important to keep cool during periods of hot weather. To help handle the heat, the Government has released advice for individuals, local authorities and health providers on how to look after themselves and support others during heat waves.
The aim of the campaign is to raise both public and professional awareness of the health impacts of severe heat by preparing for, alerting people to and helping to prevent any major avoidable effects on health during periods of severe heat in England. The campaign recommends a series of steps to be taken to reduce the risks to health from heat.
You can learn how to ‘beat the heat’ this summer with these series of steps by viewing the campaign’s poster and leaflet.
