Slyvia is passionate about the NHS and healthcare services in Walsall and has dedicated much of her time to making improvements:
I have participated in healthcare delivery in Walsall for over 30 years as a Practice Manager, Walsall Community Health Council Member and Non Executive Director of the former Walsall Health Authority.
I have worked at board level with CEO's, multidisciplinary clinical teams, GP's, Councillors, Childrens' and Adult Mental Health services, shaping health services whilst keeping the vision, aims, values and culture of the organisations. I follow the NHS governance, constitutional/code of conduct and the Nolan Principles of Public Life.
Currently a member of MyNHS Walsall and chair of my Patient Participation Group, I am also a Public and Patient Advisor to The University of Birmingham, contributing to health research for The Black Country Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care.
I am confident I have the time, skills, experience and capabilities and I am looking forward to serving as a public governor for Walsall with the Trust.
