Every year our Chief Executive, Karen Dowman, sends out a Christmas e-card to all our stakeholders. This year we wanted to create an e-card that was unique, creative and included the communities that we serve. At the start of November we launched a competition, with support from Heron Press, asking the school children of Dudley to get their creative juices flowing and design us a Christmas e-card.
We were overwhelmed with entries with over 250 individual designs being entered from nine schools across the Dudley area. Karen Dowman, Chief Executive, and Lesley Writtle, Acting Divisional Manager for Children, Young People and Families, took their time looking through the wonderful drawings before finally selecting a shortlist of 11. A first, second and third place was then awarded.
Congratulations went to Alejandro Bruzual from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Stourbridge whose colourful design was chosen and made into our Trust 2013 Christmas e-card. Alejandro won himself a wonderful arts and crafts gift set as well as £400 for his school, which will be put towards buying arts and crafts or other equipment.
Our second and third place children also won an arts and crafts gift set and every child that entered will be receiving a little gift in the New Year, to say thank you for taking part.
