The Trust launched its FallSafe Campaign this week with an invasion of its falling leaves logo.
FallSafe is a national project that aims to prevent and manage the number of falls patients have whilst in hospital. It is reported that, throughout England and Wales, 280,000 falls happen every year whilst patients are in hospitals or mental health units. Research has shown that that these falls can be reduced by 20-30%.
As a Trust we are committed to supporting this project by educating, inspiring and helping our staff to deliver improved care by working together to eliminate the factors that might cause our patients’ to fall. The FallSafe campaign is designed to raise awareness throughout the Trust and to get people talking about the ways to reduce falls in our units.
