As a healthcare organisation we want to celebrate and encourage the diversity that exists in Sandwell Mental Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust and within the community of Sandwell, as well highlighting any areas where people are treated unfairly or without the respect that they deserve.
We are creating a new Trust Equality Scheme which will be launched in June 2010. An Equality Scheme outlines how we as a Trust meet our statutory equality duties and also sets out actions that the Trust has taken, or plans to take, in relation to equality.
We want our new scheme to reflect the wider vision for equality and diversity from people who work for the Trust, its members, those who use its services or live in the local community. These are the views that really count.
We want to know how you think we’re doing as a Trust in areas of equality and diversity and what the biggest gaps might be. We’d love to know how you think we can make the Trust a fairer place for those who work here and those who use our services.
We will take all your views into account and then aim to incorporate feedback, suggestions and comments into the final document showing clearly how they have made a difference to what we are planning.
To get involved in the survey you will need to download and read the scheme document.
There is a summary at the beginning but if you are able to read the full version this will give you the best picture of the scheme overall.
You can respond by filling in the online questionnaire below or printing out the feedback form.
The closing date for feedback is April 16th 2010.
