Our Flexible Working policy offers a wide range of flexible working options to support your work-home life balance. These include part-time working, term-time working, job sharing, annualised hours, careers breaks, flexi-time arrangements, and unpaid leave.
The excellent NHS Pension Scheme is an important and valuable staff benefit. There are two NHS Pension Schemes, the 1995/2008 and the 2015 Scheme.

Annual Leave and Public Holidays
All staff who join us have an annual leave entitlement of 27 days for a full year’s work. This increases to 29 days after five years of service, and 33 days after 10 years.
Staff also have 8 public holidays. These are as follows:
- New Year's Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- May Day
- Spring Bank Holiday
- August Bank Holiday
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
We are registered with Computershare (who used to be known as Busy Bees), who can offer our employees Childcare Vouchers. You can visit Computershare’s website here to find out more about how Childcare Vouchers work. We also have a number of agreed discounts with local services. These include:
- £30 off Superweeks
- 20% off Kings Camps (sport and activity day camps) for children aged between 5 and17
- £4 per day off Super Camps during school holidays for children aged between 4 and 13

Occupational Health Services
We provide a comprehensive Occupational Health service to all staff. The range of services provided by this service include pre-employment health assessments, night worker assessments, immunisation programmes, health and safety advice, health surveillance, and infection control.
Learning and development
We are committed to offering all staff members the opportunities to develop their personal and professional skills. Working for us, you will be able to undertake a training programme that can include such things as:

Awards and Recognitions
Every year our Learning and Development team organise an annual awards ceremony. At this ceremony we congratulate all staff who have achieved qualifications in the past year, and present special awards to staff for outstanding achievements in a variety of fields. We also present Long Service awards for those who have worked for over 25 years in the NHS.
The wellbeing of our staff is important to us, because we care about our staff and because a happy workforce are better placed to provide excellent care and support to others. Our Staff Support Service provide a confidential psychology and counselling service to any staff members who would like to use the service, for whatever reason. The support service also provide support through workshops on such such things as stress management and mediation and conflict resolution.
