Haemoglobinopathies Service

Who is our service for?

For children, young people and adults who have a Dudley GP an have been diagnosed with a Haemoglobinopathy disorder such as Sickle Cell Disease or Beta Thalassaemia Major. 

How do we help?

The service screens, counsells, supports and educates individuals with a haemoglobinopathy disorder or who are carriers of the unusual haemoglobins. 

Who can refer to our service?

Referrals are taken from GPs or direct to the teams Haemoglobinopathies Specialist Nurse/Counsellor. You can also self-refer. 

What happens in an emergency?

In an emergency, patients must attend their local A&E department or their GP practice.
