Walsall Learning Disabilities Service comes on board
From the start of April, Walsall’s Learning Disability Service joins the Trust.  78 members of staff have transferred into the Trust from NHS Walsall.
The Learning Disabilities service is made up of two specialist community learning disabilities team and two in-patient units:
Orchard Hills - an assessment and treatment unit
Suttons Drive - a forensic step-down unit
In welcoming staff on board Karen Dowman, the Trust’s Chief Executive said, “This is an exciting time for the future of learning disability services and I look forward to getting out and meeting all the new staff joining us”.

Liz Staples, transferring Clinical Service Manager, said “Staff who have transferred are looking forward to being part of a bigger integrated Learning Disability Service.  We believe this will offer opportunities to provide a better future for all people with learning disabilities”.
